My boys are at the age where they want expensive electronics, so it’s nice to find a few inexpensive gifts to open and enjoy before we get to the big presents. I have been so inspired by you in the past and I will never let that go! However, I find your post becoming more egocentric and/or commercial everyday, and that I do NOT find inspiring. In a world where commercials are shoved in our faces on a daily basis, I never thought a blog that I went to for inspiration would become, well, a commercial. I will continue to wish you well and be inspired by where you started and how you have become “Miss Mustard Seed”, but you have lost a ‘follower’.

As I shared a couple of weeks ago, I’m feeling extra crafty this year! I know it’s because we’re home more than usual and creating things not only brings me joy, but it’s a great stress-reliever. I put on some good Christmas music and I don’t worry about time or what’s happening in the world. For an hour or two, I can just “be where my hands are” and focus on what I’m making. We don’t do matching family jammies, but we do give jammies as gifts, typically on Christmas Eve so they can be worn Christmas morning. I mean, you just can’t go wrong with a thick, fluffy robe, footie jammies you’ll only wear around family, or a velvety soft pajama set.
I trolled through the Walmart Fashion gift finder to see if anything jumped out at me. I have had this Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer for about 17 years. Jeff gave it to me as a gift when we bought our first house and it’s one of the best material gifts he’s ever given me. It has been my trusty side-kick in the kitchen through bread-making, birthday cakes, homemade pasta, whipping cream, grating, juicing, and everything in between. This is a great gift to give anyone who loves to cook and bake.

At just under $14, these slippers are a great buy. They are comfy and warm for wearing around the house on a chilly day. They are not so warm, though, that your feet will be sweating! I find most of my ideas in the craft section, though! Browsing supplies always challenges me to test and try new things. I also ordered the gorgeous bay leaf wreath and do use them in cooking. Come to think of it, I also bought the shutters you recommended, and couple of linen dresses I’m delighted with from Linenbees on Etsy. They are my favorite teacher outfit with pockets for phone and keys, so comfy & easy to jazz up with a scarf and bracelet arm party.

In this post, I’m going to share some holiday gift ideas from a few different categories, since you can get just about anything from Walmart! Walmart is having Black Friday Deals for Days and has already released a variety of gift guides for tech, home, fashion, beauty, toys, and more. Here are some of my picks from things I purchased from their gift guides or giftable things I’ve owned and loved for years.
While many of the items on Etsy are handmade, you’ll also find craft supplies, digital items, and more. I love wrapping gifts and embellishing them with creativeness. I found these pretty glittered monogram ornaments and thought they would look sweet tied onto a package. I used the Peaches & Cream Yarn and warped the box with brown paper.
It’s the kind of kitchen appliance that will be used for decades. I bought this Lodge Cast Iron Dutch Oven to use for soups, baking bread, and making simmer pots. I love it for making double batches of soup, but it’s sometimes more than I need.
Just came across this, Marion……better late than never. I have used brown paper for wrapping gifts for over 40 years now and I really love it. I am NOT an artist, but try to paint simple things like dinosaurs, flowers or letters for deco, even stamps and then add to them. When one daughter was younger she always wanted her packages to have lots of ribbons and such on her things, not my style.
EasterA couple of different styles of Apple Watches were also on the Walmart Fashion Gift Finder. Both Calvin and I wear an Apple Watch and we both love them. He wears it to help manage his diabetes since he can get blood sugar readings sent to the watch. I like tracking my steps and other overall health stats like heart rate and, since I am still in the process of healing a broken foot, my step symmetry. Maybe it is just me, but I can only see part of your post, starting with something (slippers, shoes, socks?) you bought in a size 9. I’ll try reading it on my computer instead of my phone.
It's a personal preference of mine to continue carrying precious metal keepsakes. With just a speck of faith the size of a mustard seed, we can face our issues. God is the superhero who will complete the mission. Assist your loved ones in realising that they will succeed.
The craft wrapping paper from Walmart is my favorite because it’s thin enough to hold a nice fold and it has a grid on the back. Before I started on this project, I headed to Walmart on a creative recon trip! (I combined it with a little Christmas shopping, too.) I find that roaming the aisles at a store will help fill my creative tank. I found some cute decor in the home section, like the round woven tray below, and some sweet “cable knit sweater” mugs.
So, I would put the gift in a box, tape it up and let her wrap it herself! Another idea was certain paper for each person. That way they could identify their gift and if the tag came off you still know who it belonged to. I ended up with some really cute packages and they were all pretty quick and easy.
